Privacy Policy
Stream Notifier is a macOS app made by Enum Solutions Inc. ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: we do not collect any of it.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no account with us. We do not run a server that receives data from the app.
Logging in with Twitch
When you click Connect, the app opens Twitch's official login page in your browser. You sign in on twitch.tv; the app never sees your password. Twitch then sends your browser to a small page at auth.enum.dev, which passes an access token back to the app. The token is carried in the part of the address after #, which browsers do not send to web servers, so it never reaches us.
The app asks Twitch for two permissions:
user:read:follows, to list the channels you followuser:read:subscriptions, to show which of those channels you subscribe to
What stays on your Mac
- The Twitch access token
- Your list of channels and your preferences
- When each channel was last seen live, used for sorting
This is kept in the app's own sandboxed storage on your Mac. It is not uploaded anywhere. Clicking "Log Out" in Preferences deletes the token, and deleting the app removes everything.
Who the app talks to
The app connects directly to Twitch (api.twitch.tv, id.twitch.tv and Twitch's image servers) to check who is live and to load channel pictures. These requests are covered by Twitch's Privacy Notice. Live notifications are created on your Mac by macOS.
The auth.enum.dev page and this website are hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log basic request details such as IP addresses; see GitHub's Privacy Statement.
Removing access
You can revoke the app's access at any time on twitch.tv under Settings → Connections.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
